This exhibition is a culmination of year long research into Chintz textiles, their influence on British Textile industry. Over this project, I visited British Museum, V&A at London and Whitworth Museum at Manchester to explore Chintz textile collections. Eventually, focusing on Lancashire textile museums, especially Queen Street Mill. My research into Chintz and their roots in the Kalamkari textiles took me to South India. The resulting works involving the use of Block printing, natural dye and free hand stitch were exhibited at British Textile Biennial – 2023. This research project was funded by Arts Council of England.
